I'm used to sharing all the good stories that our readers share with us. But it's rare that I actually get to be the one to witness as much genuine human kindness as I did the day I met Lashawndra. I got to see a real life superhero, live in action. She didn't wear a cape or have any special tools or gadgets. But she had kindness in her heart that had me nearly in tears as I watched it unfold.

Lashawndra's genuine concern and quick thinking saved an elderly woman nearly $10,000, the entire balance of her bank account. She was about to made a wire transfer to a person she worked with more than 30 years ago for an emergency surgery. It was of course a scam and Lashawndra's quick thinking saved her from making the transfer.

I don't know how often this happens. I don't know if there is special training that bankers go through to help protect people from situations like this. But I know that Lashawndra and the team at Telhio Credit Union saved the day for this sweet woman.

My heart, while so saddened to know these things actually happen, is also so full to know that there are people out there that care. Thank you Lashawndra for your giant heart. The world needs more of you.
